Refund Policy

Last updated 29 May 2026

1. Digital goods and immediate delivery

Our products are digital reference works delivered immediately on confirmation of payment, by way of a personalised, time-limited download link. By accepting our Terms of Sale at checkout, you consent to immediate delivery and acknowledge how this affects your cooling-off rights (see clause 2).

2. Cooling-off

Under section 44(1) of the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act 25 of 2002 (ECTA), the seven-day cooling-off right for electronic transactions does not apply to digital content once you have begun downloading or accessing it. This means that, once you have downloaded or accessed a product, you are not entitled to a refund simply for changing your mind. This does not affect your rights where a product is faulty or not as described.

3. When we will refund or replace

We will provide a refund or replacement where:

  • a product is faulty, corrupted, or otherwise not of the quality you are entitled to expect;
  • a product materially does not match its description; or
  • a technical problem on our side prevents you from accessing what you paid for and we are unable to resolve it (for example, by reissuing a download link).

Where the issue can be resolved by reissuing a working download link, we will usually do that first.

4. How to request a refund

Email info@foliopress.co.za with your order reference and a description of the issue. We aim to acknowledge requests within two (2) business days and to resolve them within a reasonable period thereafter. Approved refunds are made to the original payment method via PayFast; the time for funds to reflect depends on your bank or card provider.

5. Chargebacks

If you believe a charge is incorrect, please contact us at info@foliopress.co.za before initiating a chargeback so that we can resolve the matter directly. Where a payment is charged back or reversed, the licence to use the affected products terminates and we may revoke access, as set out in our Terms of Sale.

6. Your consumer rights

Nothing in this policy limits your rights under the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008, ECTA, or other applicable South African law. If we cannot resolve a complaint directly, you may approach the National Consumer Commission, the Consumer Goods and Services Ombud, or a court of competent jurisdiction.
